Through good governance, Playgroup Australia works towards securing a strong and diverse financial foundation, fostering a culture of collaboration and positive relationships among the playgroup movement.
The administration of Playgroup Australia is undertaken by the national office in Canberra. This office facilitates negotiations with the Australian Government and other national bodies in support of its member organisations and local playgroups.
Playgroup Australia meets relevant regulations and is accountable to our funding bodies. Our systems for governance include:
- policies and procedures
- risk management framework and evaluation
- financial management and independent auditing.
Member organisation governance
Member organisation representatives, usually made up of Board Chairs and CEOs, meet twice a year through forums facilitated by Playgroup Australia to discuss matters of national importance, to align strategic priorities, and to provide general member support.
Member organisation CEOs meet quarterly to collaborate and ensure synergy across national initiatives, such as research and evaluation, practice and outcomes frameworks, and other operational matters of national interest.
