Play Matters Australia has provided a much-needed platform for families looking to connect with each other and their communities. We have also led the way in research showing young children learn best through play, especially when their parents/carers are their first teachers.
But, what does this mean for your child? When you take them to playgroup they are learning new skills needed for their future. What does playgroup offer you as a parent/carer? Playgroups are places where lifelong friendships are made and parents and carers support each other by sharing the triumphs and challenges of raising a family.
As a not-for-profit organisation and the peak body for playgroups in the State, Play Matters Australia acts as a voice and advocate for families, representing playgroups to government and the wider community. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, each year Play Matters Australia supports more than 10,000 Queensland families through its offering of early years’ services and programs.
